RichPix Privacy Policy
RichPix helps Shopify merchants manage visual stacks for products, including desktop and mobile content and optional language, market, or country-specific versions.
Information we access
RichPix accesses only the Shopify data needed to provide the app's visual stack workflow. Depending on the permissions approved by the merchant, this may include:
- Shop identifiers, access permissions, and authentication and session information supplied by Shopify.
- Product data, such as product IDs, titles, handles, and images.
- Shopify Files data used to select or upload images and videos.
- Shopify language, market, and country information used for localized content and regional display rules.
- Limited order data used for merchant-facing analytics: order ID, processed time, payment status, shop currency and time zone, product IDs and titles, line-item totals, and discount allocations.
- RichPix app-owned product metafields and Shopify metaobjects used to store visual stack content, publication status, saved editor state, and shared stack product references.
- Shopify-managed app subscription information used to determine the shop's current plan and access to paid features.
Information merchants provide
Merchants may provide image and video URLs, Shopify file references, alt text, written content, module labels and settings, ordering choices, language and regional content, shared stack membership, and template names and settings while using RichPix.
Support requests
When you send a contact message, feature request, or problem report, we receive your reply email address, optional name, subject, and message. A problem report may also include a product or page URL. Your shop domain is included so we can identify the store needing help. If you attach images, their file names and contents are included with the request.
We use this information to respond to you, investigate problems, and consider product feedback. Support messages and attachments are sent through Resend to our support email inbox. They are not saved in the RichPix application database or uploaded to Shopify Files by the support form.
Customer, order, and payment data
RichPix accesses only the limited order fields described above to calculate aggregate revenue and order counts for merchants. RichPix does not request shopper names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or payment details through its order queries, and does not directly collect shopper information through its storefront block. Our analytics database stores sales summaries rather than customer profiles or individual order records.
Support messages and attachments may contain personal information you choose to include. App charges are managed by Shopify; RichPix reads subscription information to manage feature access and does not collect card or bank account details for app payments.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate merchants and keep app sessions active.
- Display product lists inside the app.
- Let merchants select, upload, save, draft, and publish visual stacks.
- Store visual stack configuration in Shopify app-owned metafields and metaobjects.
- Render the selected visual stack through the RichPix theme app block.
- Reuse shared stacks and templates, and remember module settings for your shop.
- Show recently saved stacks on the app homepage.
- Calculate aggregate revenue and order counts for products while their RichPix content is published.
- Verify app plan access and apply the corresponding feature limits.
- Use approximate active editing time, successful save counts, and review invitation history to manage the timing and frequency of Shopify's native app review requests.
- Provide support, troubleshoot issues, and maintain app security.
How information is stored
RichPix stores app sessions, store access status, cached plan information, versioned stack templates, and remembered module settings in its application database. It also stores approximate editing time, successful save counts, and review request dates and results. Review request results describe invitation status, not the contents of a submitted review.
The database also stores aggregate daily and per-product sales totals, publication intervals, and synchronization timestamps and status. A limited recent-edits cache stores Shopify product or shared stack identifiers, save times, and editor version identifiers to show recently saved stacks; it does not store stack content. Records from the earlier database-based shared stack system may remain until the shop's database records are deleted.
Product-specific visual stack content, publication status, and saved editor state are stored in Shopify app-owned product metafields. Shared stack content and publication status are stored in Shopify app-owned metaobjects, with saved editor state in separate metaobjects. Product metafields record which shared stack each product uses. Images and videos uploaded through the editor are stored in Shopify Files.
Display content and publication status have storefront read access, including when a stack is saved as Draft. The theme block uses the status to hide Draft stacks on the live storefront. Saved editor state is not granted storefront read access.
The app uses browser local storage to remember whether you have dismissed the setup guide for a shop. You can clear this preference using your browser's storage controls.
Data sharing
RichPix does not sell merchant or shopper data. We use Shopify APIs and Shopify-hosted resources to provide the app. Resend processes support contact details, shop identifiers, message contents, and attachments to deliver support emails. Our support email provider receives and stores those emails. Our application hosting and database providers process the data needed to run and store the app. These providers may process information outside your country.
Details of Resend's data handling are available in its privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or when necessary to protect the app, merchants, or Shopify platform security.
Third-party video content
If you add YouTube or Vimeo videos, the editor preview and storefront can load content directly from that provider. The provider can receive connection and device information when its content loads and handles that information under its own privacy policy. This is separate from RichPix's order analytics and support message handling.
Data retention and deletion
RichPix retains shop data in its application database while the app is installed and as needed to provide the service. On uninstall, RichPix removes app sessions and cached plan information. When Shopify sends a shop deletion request, RichPix deletes the shop's database records, including store access status, the recent-edits cache, any retained historical shared stack records and memberships, templates and their revisions, module preferences, analytics records and publication intervals, and review engagement and request records.
This application database cleanup is separate from data stored in Shopify metafields, metaobjects, or Files. It does not delete original Shopify Files or support emails and attachments held by email providers or our support inbox. Support correspondence may be retained to resolve requests and related follow-up. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of that information; some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Removing media or modules in RichPix does not delete the original Shopify Files. While the app is installed, you can clear a visual stack in the editor. Removing a product from a shared stack or dissolving a shared stack copies its latest content, publication status, and saved editor state to the affected products as independent stacks. For content stored in Shopify metafields, metaobjects, or Files, use RichPix's content controls, Shopify's available management tools, or contact support for help.
Security
RichPix uses Shopify authentication and webhook verification for app access and platform events. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards designed to protect app data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
